Plot:

Casting Call for Short Fiction Film

Casting the four main characters in a Grand Valley State University Senior Thesis film. The project is a 15 minute short fiction film. Auditions are being held on September 23rd and 24th on the GVSU Allendale Campus. Shooting is scheduled around the last three weekends in October 2011.

Plot:

James is a man with precognitive abilities. Using his ability for little more than observing and directing his own future, James is approached by a company, offering to help James use his abilities in exchange for his assistance. James then sees that he is not the only one with an ability, but also that the people that offer to help him are not interested in his wellbeing. James then experiences first hand what kinds of differences his own choices can make, and that sometimes he cannot change the future.

Available Roles:

• JAMES: Looking for a male actor age 20-30. Having recently discovered his precognitive ability and seeing the blunders made by his “peers” at work, James has begun aiming for a better position. Aside from this immediate goal however, he has not thought of what he wants to achieve, but quickly realizes that he can achieve nearly anything. He is not easily surprised as he can see many versions of the future and can often predict what will happen next. (James – Audition Script)

• AGENT HAYS: Looking for a male actor age 25-35, athletic. He is a stoic private security agent who works for a research facility that monitors and recruits individuals with extraordinary mental abilities. Though having no special powers of his own, this character uses his resourcefulness and experience to match his peers and opponents. (Agent Hays – Audition Script)

• AMY: Looking for a female actress age 18-25 to play a college student recruited by a research facility for her empathic abilities. Though she works with/for the company, she quickly forms an attachment to James because of the similarity in circumstances relating to their mental abilities. She is quiet and kind but becomes overwhelmed when emotions flare (her own or anyone else’s) because of her ability. (Amy – Audition Script)

• DR. BENNETT: Looking for a male actor age 40-65 to play a pleasant and often humorous doctor at a research facility that has taken it upon themselves to monitor and recruit individuals with extraordinary mental abilities. About the Show:

It’s Christmas-time in the small town of Fayro, Texas. the Futrelle Sisters are not exactly in a festive mood. Frankie is weeks overdue with her second set of twins. Twink is in jail for inadvertently burning down half the town. And hot-flash-suffering Honey Raye is desperately trying to keep the Tabernacle of the Lamb’s Christmas Program from spriraling into chaos. The celebrity guest Santa Claus is passing a kidney stone. One of the shepherds refuses to watch over the flock without pulling his little red wagon. And the entire cast is suffering from food poisoning. The hilarious holiday journey through a misadventure-filled Christmas Eve is guaranteed to bring joy to your world!

• Honey Raye Futrelle: 50ish, oldest Futrelle sister, sexy, vivacious go-getter, who is “enjoying” the wonderful world of menopause.

• Gina Jo (G.J.) Dubberly: Frankie and Dub’s daughter, 20’s guileless and enthusiastic, she is your typical Daisy Duke sort of girl. Loves the life she currently lives and loves her family more than life itself.

• John Curtis Buntner: 35-55, deputy sheriff, loves the ladies just as much as he loves his donuts and coffee.

• Twink Futrelle: Middle Futrelle sister, 40’s – the “black sheep,” she is loud and so is her style, she is very sexy and not scared to show off a little skin to get what she needs, she is the toughest of the sisters.

• Dub Dubberly: Frankie’s husband, 40’s your typical trailer park husband, life revolves around nascar, hunting, and drinking beer. He love his wife more than he may show.

• Frankie Futrelle Dubberly: Youngest Futrelle sister, 40’s, pregnant with her 2nd set of twins, she is the most normal of the sisters but still out there, she is a wonderful mother and if full of wit.

• Rhonda Lynn Lampley: 50’s, flashy manager of The Dairy Dog, there is a secret about her, and likes to do whatever it takes to try to fit in. She is a chameleon, copies what is around her. She is a cross between Martha Stewart and Paula Dean.

• Justin Waverly: 20’s, interim Pastor at the Tabernacle of the Lamb, very sweet and innocent, doesn’t like confrontation and is in love with GJ.

• Raynerd Chisum: (adult male) part-time employee at The Dairy Dog, life in his world is very simple, and there is always a place for his little red wagon. He is slow in his thoughts and speech but he always speaks from the heart.

• Patsy Price: 40-60, elegant society matron, she is a high class–well as high as you can get in a trailer park– she is never wrong, and knows everything there is to know about the whole existence of mankind.

Casting Actors for “Suffer Little Children”

My name is Sam Keeble, I’m 19 years old, recently graduated out of Interlochen Arts Academy as a post-grad. I’ve won several awards from the 2010 DAFT Film Festival including Best of Show. The film I am casting for is titled, “Suffer Little Children” and is based on the true events of the Moors Murders in London of 1963. This short horror film will begin filming in Ortonville, MI (Oakland County Area) in October 2011 and should take a couple of weekends to film.

University of Michigan Auditions

Casting two actresses for a short film centered in Ann Arbor, MI. The film is a 1950s romantic period piece about two women who move into a possessed farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. Filming will take place over the course of 3-4 weekends, beginning the second week of October.

Audition Dates:

Saturday, September 24th from 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Sunday, September 25th from 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Thursday, September 29th from 6:30pm – 9:30pm

All auditions will take place in the ISS Media Demo Room in the Modern Languages Building (second floor) on the University of Michigan campus.

A comparative account of a young lady facing questions that society regards as non-existing.
