Open Auditions in Royal Oak

DivAudi Studios is having open taped auditions for a female anchor, for short 2-3 minute video updates. Must be passable for mid 20’s and have a good speaking voice. Auditions will be held on Thursday, April 21st in Royal Oak.

Auditions are being held on April 20th and 28th for actors and extras for the action/suspense/conspiracy thriller “Risk Limit”. Filming is scheduled to take place in the Ann Arbor area.

Synopsis:

A hacker becomes involved with a mysterious group which leads to him being on the run from them and the government.

Available Roles:

Dress for the part – it may factor into our decision-making process.

• CLIVE (aka “Anomaly” – hacker alias): Naturally talented hacker – has insatiable curiosity – compulsive puzzle solver – individualistic anti-social loner – holds a grudge – earns living by being a grey-hat hacker – above all, values his privacy and freedom

• JINGWEI: A happy-go-lucky jolly good fellow – has an eidetic memory – Clive’s hacker friend whom he has never met before in person – loves eating peanuts – Has a shoe fetish – for some reason brings shoes up a lot

• JINX: Another hacker friend of Clive’s – paranoid conspiracy theorist – prodigy hacker and decryption specialist – black-hat hacker with numerous cyber-criminal violations

• The SPOOK (government Spy): Lifelong discipline – logical, cold, calculating – highly skilled and cross-trained in a variety of fields such as intelligence and self-defence – has access to most sophisticated technologies available – Allowed to conduct self-made black operations and pursue cases of his choosing with minimal supervision; highly autonomous – straight-to-the-point

• STREET AGENT (FOR RISK LIMIT): A Risk Limit agent on the street – conducts “physical” tasks for Risk Limit – always on the call when he is needed – has no qualms about using his pistol when he has to

• RISK LIMIT OPERATIVE: A man who disguises himself as an NSA agent – speaks with the street agent to gather intel – a die-hard for Risk Limit’s cause – anarchy and rebellion against the government – ready to die for the cause – a radical extremist – trained against torture

• HOTSHOT AKA the DATA MINER: He extracts & analyzes patterns from large data sets, gaining actionable intelligence from raw data collected mostly from the Internet – an up-and-comer; hotshot; renegade; loose-cannon – Heavy smoker – douchebag

• HEAD HONCHO: Had of a secret government agency – a grizzled veteran – tough guy with an intimidating presence – stands with arms crossed most of the time

• RISK LIMIT CREEP: A creepy voice that contacts Clive and Jinx at different points – unknown who the voice is coming from – gives Clive cryptic clues, taking advantage of his natural propensity for puzzle-solving – manipulative and maniacal – finds misfortune amusing

• G-MEN: Anonymous, sharp-dressed agents of a secret government agency – display no emotion – dress in all black except for white button-up shirt (black shades, tie, coat, slacks, and shoes) – they are there to do their job and do it well – without drawing undue attention to themselves – callous professionals

• OFFICE WORKERS / PEDESTRIANS: People working in the secret government agency and people on the street

• 2 VOICES: Unseen Risk Limit Operatives – conducting an operation over some kind of telecommunications – set a trap in the beginning for the Hotshot – once they find where he is, they send in the street agent

Enter Stage Right Casting Call

Following last year’s successful celebration of “user friendly Shakespeare”, we are producing the festival over two days this summer – August 13th and 14th in the city of St. Clair, Michigan.

Strolling players, a musical consort, and other performers will recreate the world that surrounded Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, while ‘Pageant Wagons’ will give visitors a taste of 16th century life ranging from sword fighting to dancing.

We are not doing any full length plays – we are doing selected scenes, soliloquies, songs, dances, etc. to give people a feel for a summer’s day at the Globe in 1599. We keep everything as period appropriate as possible – so it’s a little like Colonial Williamsburg: Our food vendors follow all modern health laws, but keep the modern technology hidden behind hay bales, etc.

Audition Details:

Audition will be held on May 2nd and 3rd from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. (You do not have to attend both days.) Callbacks are May 7th from 10am – 2pm.

“Axe and Knife”, a zombie short shooting in Flint and surrounding areas, announces an open casting call. The story revolves around 3 characters thrown together in a time of chaos and their struggle to survive – not just what lurks outside, but each other. Whoʼs intentions are pure and whoʼs are driven by something more?

Alliance Casting is accepting video auditions for the movie “Bender”. They are looking to cast one actor and one actress for the final two roles in the film. Video auditions are due by April 25th, 2011.

Available Roles:

• Rick (Enrique Chavez): Must be Latino, dark hair, medium build, a bit scruffy, yet hip. He’s in his late 20’s-early to mid 30’s. Seems to enjoy his self destructive ways. Has a jaded view of the world. Keeps an emotional wall between himself and women.

• Mariana (Mariana Rivera): Beautiful, and voluptuous. Must have dark hair. Mid to Late 20’s. As intelligent as she is beautiful. She does not seem to realize how attractive she is.

NOTE: Video Auditions must show us your range with 2 monologues performed.

For Modern Monologues:

Men can pull monologues from Jerry Macguire, American Gangster, Scent of a Woman, Air Force One, Gladiator. Women can pull monologues from When a Man Loves a Woman, Serendipity, Monster, Kill Bill, While You Were Sleeping, Collateral.

Compensation:

$50/day and lodging; remainder of the pay will be deferred. Food will be provided. You will get reputable credit on IMDB with your character name, a copy of the feature movie when complete, as well as a ticket for you and a guest for the premiere.

Casting Call for Child Actor

Casting a male child actor to play the role of a son in a documentary. The shoot will take place in the Wayne State area on Thursday, May 12th and possibly one or two other days to follow.

Available Roles:

• Male Son: (age 11-14) Caucasian, thin and red-haired (or blond-haired boy who is willing to dye hair – will pay for that and haircut if needed). This is a non-speaking role.

Compensation:

Will pay for gas mileage and other perks including DVD when film is finished and name in final credits. Also will rent and pay for a tuxedo which is needed for the first day’s shoot.
