Plot:

Jim helps George and Douglas, his son and stepson, clean out his ex-wife Clara’s, house after her death. While wandering around the house, Jim finds a photograph of George and himself. At George’s 8th birthday he remembers this day as, after an argument with Mary Anne, Clara’s mother, and Clara, his ex-wife tried to take his son away from him.

Available Roles:

  • JIM (Past): Early 30′s, Caucasian male, average height, husky build, short dark hair. Construction worker. Quick to anger, but loves his son.

  • JIM (Present): Mid 50′s, Caucasian male, salt and pepper hair. Retired EMT. A reserved and proud man, but emotional about his ex-wife’s death.

  • CLARA (Past): Early 30′s, Caucasian female, short height, beautiful flowing long brown hair. Substitute teacher. Two months pregnant. Tolerant and civil, but has her limits.

  • GARY (Past): Early 30′s, Caucasian male, tall and athletic, brown hair, clean cut. History teacher. Marathon runner. Polite and oblivious.

  • GEORGE (Past): 8-10yrs old, short, skinny, shaggy brown hair. Very bright and happy boy.

  • MARY ANNE (Past): Late 50′s early 60′s, short height, wavy grey hair. Sarcastic and cynical, but with good intentions.

  • DOUGLAS: Early 20′s, tall, athletic build, short brown hair. Advertising intern. Soft spoken, emotionally aware.

  • GEORGE (Present): Early 30′s, Caucasian male, tall, lean build, clean cut, short brown hair. Accountant. Caring, worries about Jim.

  • EXTRAS: Children Extras needed for a birthday scene.

Compensation:

There is no pay but a copy of the film will be provided on completion and food on set will be provided.

Projection Film

M-agination Films is casting principal and featured actors for the 35 minute short film “Projection.” Actors will be needed on various dates between May 14 and May 28 in Southeast Michigan.

Synopsis:

This dark, complex psychological thriller tells the story of a young woman who has long struggled to conceal a past traumatic event from her loved ones, but must relive it when the movie she attends violently comes to life, recreating the past and teaching her an important lesson. While the film’s main theme is overcoming fears, it also deals with the universal emotions of loneliness and learning one’s self-worth.

Available Roles:

  • ABIGAIL COOPER: Will play the main role of a distraught, damaged young woman, aged 19-26, whose looming trip to New York City sparks memories of a traumatic past event. Through the reflection of a movie screen, Abbie is forced to confront her demons head on and learn that the past doesn’t control her future.
  • TONY DOMINIC: Will play Abigail’s boyfriend, aged 21-30. As described in the script, he carries himself with “Dorian Grey charm: a suave exterior and a touch of detached, paternal contempt in his voice.” Obsessed with outward appearances, his three-year relationship with Abigail has dissolved into abuse and condescension.
  • KATHERINE HECKER: Will play Abigail’s spunky, no-nonsense roommate, aged 19-26, who works as an entertainment columnist at the local newspaper. With only good will towards Abbie, Kate spends the majority of the film trying to emotionally support her roommate.
  • FRANK LAMBERT: Will play the nerdy, lonely projectionist at the movie theater. Aged 19-30, Frank wanted to pursue a career in photography, but a fear of failure held him back. Instead, he hides in the projection room to escape from the world and its disappointments.
  • GUNMAN 1: Will play the suave, career-oriented gunman who’s been hired by the mob to interrogate Abigail about her past. Aged 40-60, his obsession with professional excellence is accentuated in his advanced vocabulary and educated philosophies.
  • GUNMAN 2: Will play the novice accomplice of Gunman 1. Aged 30-40, his inexperience and lack of emotional detachment cause a great deal of insecurity and internal conflict as to whether he wants to pursue the lifestyle of a hitman.
  • EDNA WASHINGTON: Will play an older female moviegoer, aged 45-65. Supporting character.
  • USHER: Will play the theater usher, aged 20-40. Supporting character.
  • HOTEL CLERK: Will play a hotel clerk, aged 25-45. Supporting character.

Compensation:

While these are not paid positions, expect to have a great experience with a talented crew that is motivated to tell a compelling story. The film will be shown at many venues, especially film festivals. Also, all actors involved in the project will get DVDs of the film and an on-screen credit, of course.

CASTING CALL 4 :Air Head”, a Compass College for Cinematic Arts student film will be shooting March 23-25. They are looking to cast three actors and one actress.

Plot Summary:

Jack Merrymon is a rockstar in every way, his behavior, his look, even his ego, except for one major thing: Jack is a professional air guitarist. But now he has to walk the walk when he accidentally signs up for a real battle of the bands. With the competition two weeks away, classical guitar student Edward Strat reluctantly agrees to teach him the craft, and must put up with this wanna-be’s antics. Styles clash in this rock comedy, produced by An Benoit, written and directed by David Spencer.

Sarah: (Female, 20s) Works at the guitar shop and is a rock fan. She is sweet, a peace-maker, with a bit of a punk look.
TJ Franks: (Male, 30s-40s) Professional guitarist and Jack’s old rival. He is bullying and self absorbed.

Casting Lead Male for Fitness Equipment(paid)

MEN ONLY CASTING:The Detroit-based exercise equipment company called The Burn Machine is looking to cast a male actor/model.They are shooting their latest exercise reference poster at the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit, and are interested in featuring someone as their lead male. You will be demonstrating different exercises using equipment, and also featured for potential placement on the actual product box itself.

Professional photographer Robert Stewart will be behind the lens, known for working with Channel 7 WXYZ talent and two-time Mr. Universe Peter Nielsen and all together shouldn’t last longer than 4 hours.

The Burn Machine would like to thank everyone for their submissions throughout the past 2 months in search of our talent to incorporate into our workout poster and product art. There were a lot of wonderful models and again, your participation is greatly appreciated.

We have since found female talent, but had scheduling issues in our original choice for male model, which means that the casting has been RE-OPENED with specific details listed below.

“Project X” Musical Casting for Lead Role

 

Casting Call for Male Child Actor

Casting a young male actor for the musical, “Project X”. Must be in driving distance from Berkley, MI and willing to make a commitment.

Plot:

“Project X” is a new musical centering around 4 teenagers entering Middle School. Realizing that Middle School isn’t just about what it appears to be, they scramble to fit in and lose track of what’s really important. This show tackles difficult subjects such as Popularity, Peer Pressure, Betrayal and Staying True to Yourself.

Now, they must make a choice between the Friends they always wanted-or the Friends they’ve always had. This smash hit musical premiered November 10th to audience approval, and went on to play to 80 people. This is a teen written show. By themselves, these teens have assembled a 9 person cast with 5 original songs with dance, and have been featured in the news several times and have been recognized by Broadway stars. The show has been a great success, with Standing Ovations both nights. From 7 year olds to 70 year olds, “Project X” warms the heart and captures each audience member it encounters. People laugh, cry and applaud at this musical. This show is entirely original.

Available Roles:

  • Brenton: (Lead role) Male, ages 12-15. After being betrayed from his best friend, Brenton is determined to win back Max’s friendship. Although geeky, gets tons of laughs; funny. (Must sing and act well and have limited dance ability.)

YEA Exclusive: 2012 Spring Bridal Show

 

The 2012 Spring Bridal Expo is coming February 18th & 19th!!  Calling all models, who have the time, for the rehearsals and the two shows (The client may require an audition for this show this year, due to the overwhelming responses thus far, for these modeling positions.)  This is a paid event for our professionals.  The client will allow some promotional models in this event for experience and as a resume builder.  So, those who have the time for the audition, the rehearsal(s), and both shows, will have to show their passion to get on that stage! The client has been good to us and has paid for our services for the past 4 years. A small film studio located out of Southfield, MI is looking to cast talent for a 30-second commercial spot that they are producing for a local jewelry shop. Shooting will take place in the afternoon on Wednesday, January 25th. The exact location is still being determined.

  • Male Actor: “Groom” – aged 25-35 – Will shoot at 2 separate locations

  • 3 Female Actresses: “Bridesmaids” – aged 25-35 – Will shoot at only 1 location
