Casting Actors for 48 Hour Guerrilla Film Competition (Ypsilanti, MI)

Casting Call for Film Competition Actors

48 Hour Guerrilla Film Competition

We’re a local filmmaking team in Ypsilanti, MI. We will be competing in the 48 Hour Guerrilla Film Competition, sponsored by the Sarasota Film Society on May 13th-15th. We’re looking for 3-4 actors who can devote the whole weekend to this project, who don’t mind missing a night’s sleep, and who are patient and can keep a good attitude even when they’re tired. Because of the nature of the competition, we won’t have a script or genre until the contest begins. The film will be between 5 and 10 minutes long.

Please note that it is possible we’ll try hard but not finish on time, or be disqualified. Although we don’t expect that to happen, it is possible. This is a learning experience for us. We’re beginners, but we have every intention of putting together an entry that will compete for first place.

Compensation:

There will be no pay, but we will provide food. Actors can keep a copy of the film for their portfolios. This is a big competition that attracts professionals as well as amateurs. Every film that doesn’t get disqualified will be shown at the screening in Sarasota, FL. According to their website, “As of 2010, the total participation just from Sarasota has seen over 80+ short films made by over 1000 people. Each year through our relationship with the Sarasota Film Society we are able to screen these films to a packed house.” So you should get some exposure as well as experience. Even if our film does not win you’ll still have a chance to win in the “best actor” category.
