Sports Medicine/Sports Rehabilitation Videos

We have multiple positions available for actresses/models to portray athletes in instructional Sports Medicine/Sports Rehabilitation videos that are filming in Detroit and Troy in July 2012. Great for college students studying acting/dance/theatre. Great for athletes or those who regularly exercise.

Available Roles:

• Actresses/Models: (Female, ages 18+, open ethnicity) These roles are all speaking positions and require you to have a fit athletic appearance with the ability to perform required movements (Running in place, various stretches and movements). Some roles will require you memorize a script.

Compensation:

The pay is dependent on the role, but will vary from $250 to $550. Most positions are 1 day gigs.

Lead, Supporting Cast Needed for Indie Film

Still casting one lead role, a few supporting roles and extras for the 30-minute independent film, “My good friend, Gwen”. Shooting is scheduled for July 14th, 15th, 21st, 22nd, 30th and 31st in East Lansing. We may also have pick up days on the last two Fridays if we are behind schedule.

Plot:

Donald is a teacher’s assistant for the creative writing program at his graduate university, though Donald himself is not part of the graduate program. He is under qualified with his professional writing undergrad, and so he is writing an entrance piece in order to prove himself. He is suffering from writer’s block, trying to capture his emotions about his brother who died months prior in his entrance piece. At the same time, he has to go to an apprenticeship with the elitist creative writing TA’s in order to learn from them before he is accepted into their program. After being invited to a party by his students in his recitation class, he must decide whether he is willing to move past his brother’s death and befriend his good-natured class, or continue living his lonely life by himself.

Available Roles:

• Gwen: (Female lead, ages 20-22) A student in Donald’s recitation class who is a master of the deadpan expression, but who occasionally breaks out a smile. This role requires strong subtle acting as well as comedic timing.
• Paul: (Ages 25-28) A dirty and slightly delusional punk who walks about the streets of the university asking people to sign a petition to bring casinos to the town. He is very much a caricature.
• Jeff: (Ages 20-22) An anxiety ridden, nerdy type student in Donald’s recitation class. He is constantly under prepared for class, and is often the butt of the joke of each scene he is in. Also another caricature which acts as a foil to Donald’s straight man.
• Matt: (Ages 25-28) Another TA for the creative writing undergraduate program. He is an elitist intellectual who thinks everything written is a reference to some other classical literature piece. Matt is the most frustrated with Donald’s lack of experience.
• James: (Ages 20-22) Students in Donald’s recitation class. James has a beard and is deadpan sarcastic.
• Extras: This film also requires extras for a bar scene and a house party scene. Any and all interested are welcome to help.

Compensation:

Compensation will be negotiable dependent on the responsibility of the role and the experience of the actor. I will try my best to somehow compensate everyone, but as I’ve just graduated from college myself, I can guarantee anything too extravagant.

Battle Scene Extras Casting

Casting extras for the film, “The Inheritance”. Shooting for the battle scene will be Saturday, July 21st in downtown Detroit, MI.

Plot:

Two Egyptian Gods (Anubis and Osiris) are given their fathers inheritance, but only one of them can wield its power. When tensions rise and the thirst for the Inheritance grows the two brothers bring the battle of epic proportions to earth to settle whose the greatest God and who will posses their fathers inheritance.

Available Roles:

• Extras: In need of extras who can play soldiers for Osiris and Anubis army. (Male and female, under 30, open ethnicity, all shapes and sizes) Looking for athletic individuals who are committed to the shoot and are willing to have a great time.

Compensation

These are not paid roles, but actors will receive food.

Casting Actors for Short Film

Casting actors for the short film, “The Professionals”. Auditioning talent from June 4th through June 12th. Filming will last through the end of July (end of August, maybe) in East Lansing, MI.

Synopsis:

The Professionals is a short psychological thriller about four students and their dead professor. The story revolves around Chloe, a psychology student, whose fascination with the serial murders on campus is only intensified when her professor goes missing. When she blames one of her friends, the mounting drama only drives her to new extremes. While she basks in the attention, the real killer makes plans to sweep everything under the rug.

Available Roles:

• Chloe: (lead role) Female, ages 20-23. Attractive, girl next door type. On the surface, she seems to be driven by a petty need for attention. However, she is very cunning and gets an enjoyment out of seeing people squirm. By the end of the film, we see that she has complete control over her friends, and is pulling at the serial killer’s strings.
• Andy: (lead role) Male, ages 20-23. Lean and sturdy, maybe on the athletic side. He is loud, crass, and opinionated. Though very intelligent, most people find his sarcasm a little too sharp. He doesn’t care about others’ perceptions of him, but he welcomes any opportunity to show off. He makes his dislike for other people clear, and his sour relationship with the professor puts him on the list as the first suspect.

Compensation:

Compensation only if project is funded through kickstarter.

Open Audition for Independent Short Film

There will be an open audition for an independent short film, by an African filmmaker, for the festival circuit. Auditions will be held on Sunday, June 10th at 1:00pm in Metro Detroit.

Available Roles:

• African Intellectual: A young, African intellectual from Africa (Zambia), who is somewhat removed from the vicious circle of poverty and the African elites to which he belongs that are fueling the problem. Must be able to speak with an African accent.
• Executive: A world-weary American Caucasian male executive that has some very definite ideas about what is right and wrong with the people and continent of Africa, whose heart is in the right places, but is not afraid of being rude.
• Caucasian Male: (small speaking part)
• African American or African: Must be able to speak with African accent. (small speaking part)

Extras:

• Airport Travelers: Looking for a variety of actors age 18 and up to be apart of the background setting in an airport. (non speaking)
• 2 Airline Clerks: Female, ages 18 to 35 (small speaking part)
• 1 Airline Clerk: Male, ages 18 to 35 (non speaking)

Compensation:

The auditions are unpaid, and will be videotaped. The copyrighted script will be provided in advance, which must be returned. Releases are required. The actors whom are given call-backs will be paid a day rate of $50 for 1-2 hours of shooting. Two to three days of shooting are anticipated.

“Living it Up” Web Series Casting

Aroberson Production is casting 3 featured extras for the web series, “Living it Up”. These are small speaking parts. Talent will be needed on Friday, June 1st for a night shoot starting at 7:30pm in Metro Detroit. The shoot should only take 2 hours at most.

Plot:

“Living it Up” is a dramedy based around the life of Bianca Hicks, a psychology student and Chris Jackson an aspiring actor and model who lives in a society full of friendships and aspirations. Living in a world revolving around actors and models Bianca can only depend on those who are on the same set as her. Chris and Bianca will have to work together in order to survive in the world of talent. Through all the drama, this series is full of love, laughter, friendships, and non stop fun. Living it Up is the future.
