Written as homage to Neil Simon; the visitors in this Calgary hotel deal with life and love through laughter.

“The SCP Young Peoples’ Theatre will be hosting auditions for Disney’s: Aladdin Jr. on Sunday, June 14 and Monday, June 15, 2015. (Show is for ages 7-17)

Auditions will be at the Corner Playhouse. Registration begins at 6:30pm with auditions beginning at 7pm. Please note that all material will be provided at auditions. 

Phill Rauch will be directing.
Jerry will be vocal directing.

Performance dates are September 18, 19, 25 & 26, 2015 at Davidson Middle School Auditorium at 7pm.

Per Musical Theatre International “All of your favorite characters from the hit Disney film – Aladdin, Jasmine, Iago, Jafar, the Genie, and more – are here in Disney’s Aladdin JR., a musical adventure filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides”

CHARACTER LIST:

ALADDIN – Aladdin is the title character and carries most of the show. Versatility is necessary in order to play the slick prankster and romantic lead.

GENIE – Genie is the fast-talking, scene-stealing funny
man.

IAGO – Iago is a great comedic role as Jafar’s sidekick.

JAFAR – Jafar is the villain.

JASMINE – Jasmine is feisty and rebellious, yet genuinely sweet and somewhat naïve. Jasmine is a future leader with strong opinions on how things should be done.

MAGIC CARPET – The Magic Carpet is a character in the show. NARRATORS – Must speak clearly as they are responsible for setting scenes and advancing the plot.

RAZOUL – Razoul is highly incompetent – always making mistakes.

SULTAN – The Sultan is a father figure, although a bit scattered.

ENSEMBLE – Ensemble consists of Townspeople, Shop Owners, Harem Girls, Princes, and others. There are opportunities for many featured moments for your ensemble members.

Established in 1957, the Southgate Community Players study and promote Community Theater to encourage local talent in dramatic productions. SCP fosters cultural interests while maintaining a high standard of entertainment.”

I need them for a photography creative lighting class.
In this class photographers will learn creative studio techniques that
will help take their photography to the next level. Topics that will be
covered include:
Creating effects using colored gels
Creating drama with smoke and water
Mixing speed lights and strobes to create motion effects.
The workshop will be TFP for models but with  $20 tips from each
photographer that attends as well as up to 5 edited images for their
portfolio. Models are asked to be timely and will be asked to be involved
with demonstration. So the main photographer will cover using gels and will
demonstrate how to make a model look good and what it can look like if it
is done wrong.

An open casting call is planned for May 2 for a movie about the life of Richard Wershe Jr., who was was 18 in 1988 when he was sentenced to life in prison after being busted with 650 grams of cocaine.

The saga of White Boy Rick, as he was nicknamed, and his involvement in the drug empires spurred by the 1980s crack plague, became famous in metro Detroit.

The movie “White Boy Rick” is expected to shoot in Detroit sometime this fall.

The open casting call is scheduled for 1-6 p.m. May 2 at Michigan Actors Studio, 648 E. Nine Mile Road in Ferndale. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a photo with full name and contact information attached.

Candidates must resemble Wershe as a youth. He’s described as “Caucasian, baby faced, street-smart and a born hustler” with swagger and charm beyond his years.
