PTD Productions Auditions for Actors

PTD Productions

The Great American Dysfunctional Family; James Tyrone is an aging actor and skinflint whose miserliness has been the ruin of his family. His wife, Mary, has been a morphine addict since the birth of their youngest son, Edmund. Their eldest son, Jamie is an alcoholic, unwilling to find work on his own, he has been ‘forced’ to take up his father’s profession. Edmund, who had escaped the family drama as a sailor has returned home sick and awaits the doctor’s diagnosis of consumption. The interdependence of these tortured souls creates a story of loss, heartbreak and love interwoven in one traumatic summer day…

This stylized multi-media production will take a classic representational play and add new dimensions through projections, sound and use of on and offstage focus, creating a more presentational experience to further heighten the emotional impact of the play. These characters are an actor’s dream — deeply troubled, lost, and at their core still loving one another. Join us for an exciting journey into character analysis and experimentation…
